General

Hotelschool The Hague is seeking a dedicated and skilled Official Secretary to join the Co-determination Council (CDC) and Educational Committee (EdCom). This dual role, encompassing 0.5 full-time equivalent (FTE) hours, offers a challenging opportunity to contribute to the functioning and quality assurance of our unique, small scale international hospitality and business minded educational environment. In this position you are the link & focal point of the two bodies with the rest of the organisation.

Co-determination Council

The CDC is an official entity within Hotelschool The Hague enstated by law (WHW). The CDC is constituted by elected students & employees and represents the interests of all of its constituents: students and staff (lecturers, instructors, researchers and non educational staff). The CDC Official Secretary advises CDC on processes and procedures to support the consent and advice procedures. In addition, the Official Secretary provides administrative/organizational assistance to the CDC.

Educational Committee

The Education Committee consists of elected students and elected staff members. It advises and provides consent to the BoD on matters related to guaranteeing the quality of HTH’s study programmes.

The EdCom Secretary is responsible for providing administrative and organizational assistance to EdCom.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Supports & advises the CDC's & EdCom Daily Board
  • Prepares the content of the CDC & EdCom agenda, meetings and appointments
  • Liaises with Corporate Secretary to ensure alignment on CDC BOD agendas
  • Minutes CDC & EdCom meetings and supports the follow-up of the action points
  • Monitors and initiates matters related to procedures, processes and appointments of the CDC & EdCom and monitors the proper implementation follow up;
  • Supports the various (sub) committees of CDC
  • Supports both the student- section and the staff section of the CDC & EdCom
  • Keeps track of the electronic archive.
  • Is present at meetings which can take place at both either campuses (The Hague & Amsterdam

Profile

  • MBO / HBO supporting administrative professions
  • Excellent language skills in both Dutch and English, verbally and in writing
  • Excellent social and communication skills;
  • Enthusiastic, innovative, creative, flexible, customer- and service-oriented attitude;
  • Able to initiate, process, follow up process driven matters and changes required to procedures
  • Strong in organizational skills and able to process information efficiently
  • Able to work accurately and under time pressure
  • Is comfortable to function independently and able to function in a team;
  • Experienced, familiar and theoretically skilled within the relevant WHW articles and Collective Labour Agreement HBO Education
  • Skill in jotting down, timely collection of documents, handling deadlines and guarding processes
  • Organisational senstitive

Remuneration

Hotelschool The Hague offers a salary based on scale 9 the labour agreement of Universities of Applied Science (CAO HBO) with a range between € 3.471,10 and € 4.720,40 per month based on full time, depending on your professional experience and qualifications. The vacancy for both functions is available for 20 hours per week.

Additional information

Hotelschool The Hague works with a 40-hour workweek. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible depending on the notice period of the applicant.

An English language proficiency test may be part of the selection procedure. Upon receiving an offer, a certificate of conduct (VOG) is required. Fluency in both Dutch and English is a must.
