Shape the future of marine engineering, developing tools and frameworks that turn complexity into clarity.

Your role in the story

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you take ownership of the structural engineering scope within one of our large-scale projects within Decommissioning, T&I or Wind. Rather than splitting your attention across multiple projects, you are typically assigned to a single project for a prolonged period, giving you the opportunity to follow the full engineering lifecycle, from early concept development and tendering through detailed engineering, fabrication support, offshore execution and project close-out.

You act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for structural engineering within the project team. You coordinate technical decisions, align stakeholders and ensure engineering quality throughout the project. You are also the functional lead of a team of structural engineers within the project. You provide guidance, review technical work, coach less experienced colleagues and create the conditions for the team to perform at its best. Also, you potentially act as the interface for engineering subcontractors supporting the project scope.

This role is ideal for someone who is already operating as a Lead Engineer or who is ready to step into a lead role and take ownership within technically challenging offshore projects. You enjoy combining technical depth with leadership and gain energy from seeing your engineering decisions realized offshore.

What you will be working on

  • Concept and detailed design of offshore fit‑for‑purpose lifting arrangements and steel structures, such as lifting appliances, lift points, grillage and seafastening
  • Structural strength verifications according to HMC guidance and criteria, along with recognized codes and standards
  • Reviewing and approving structural deliverables, including drawings and construction reports
  • Performing quality control on work delivered by colleagues and contractors
  • Actively contributing to a learning and continuously improving engineering organization by sharing knowledge and identifying improvement opportunities

Key ingredients for success

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in offshore engineering, project preparation and execution
  • A solid background in offshore structural engineering
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a practical, pragmatic mindset
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
  • Supervisory and coaching skills to guide and support less experienced engineers
  • The ambition and flexibility to work (temporarily) offshore, abroad or in one of our international offices
