HCSS Cyberschool Internship
HCSS
HCSS is looking for an intern for the HCSS Cyberschools. This is a program within HCSS that requires significant organisational skills. HCSS offers two annual schools for students and young professionals interested in cybersecurity: the Southern Africa–Netherlands Cyber Security School (SANCS) in the spring and the Indo–Dutch Cyber Security School (IDCSS) in the fall, with a potential third online Cyber Security School in Asia currently under development. The main goal of these schools is to give students and young professionals the opportunity to develop professionally and academically in the field of cybersecurity through lectures and online learning.
As the HCSS Cyberschools intern, you will actively contribute to the organisation and development of the Cyberschools. Your role includes various organisational responsibilities, ranging from contributing to the acquisition of external partners who provide assignments for students, supporting events, maintaining contact with our Indian and South African partners, organising lectures, and reporting on the (final) results of the program.
HCSS offers a dynamic and challenging internship, and we are looking for a candidate who demonstrates professionalism, curiosity, strong social and organizational skills, and a high degree of flexibility and commitment.
Your profile:
- You are enrolled in a university program and have demonstrable experience in organising events/webinars. Experience in intercultural work environments and moderating events is a plus.
- You are flexible and capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- You act professionally and proactively, have a positive attitude, and are eager to learn.
- You have strong communication skills: you will help organise the Cyberschool for thousands of students (the last SANCS edition had 10,000 participants!), working with more than 20 partners, including international universities and embassies. Due to the scale and high level of the Program, clear communication is essential. English is required; proficiency in Dutch is a plus.
- You are autonomous: you are given the freedom to organise your work in your own way and schedule. This provides flexibility but also requires the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results.
- You are creative: each edition of the Cyberschool brings new challenges and opportunities, such as implementing new communication systems or thematic approaches. Creativity is essential to successfully introduce improvements to the program.

- Internship duration: 6 months
- Full-time commitment (40 hours per week)
