Job Summary

The Network Tools Engineer is responsible for administration, configuration, and optimization of network monitoring and observability platforms supporting enterprise network infrastructure. The role focuses on ensuring end-to-end visibility, alerting accuracy, and performance monitoring across LAN, WAN, cloud, and security environments through enterprise tools such as LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, and ServiceNow.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Observability Manage and administer network monitoring tools (LogicMonitor / SolarWinds / Dynatrace / Nagios, etc.) Configure monitoring for: Network devices (routers, switches, firewalls) Servers, cloud, and application components Ensure real-time alerting, threshold configuration, and event correlation Tool Administration & Optimization Act as SME for EMS/NMS tools (monitoring ecosystem) [Network Tools | Word] Perform installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of monitoring platforms Optimize alert noise reduction and improve monitoring accuracy Maintain device onboarding, SNMP/NetFlow integration, and collectors [Vertex Cli...Visit Deck | PowerPoint] ITSM Integration Integrate monitoring tools with ServiceNow for Incident, Problem, and Change workflows Ensure automated ticket generation and lifecycle management Support ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change) Dashboards & Reporting Develop and maintain: Monitoring dashboards SLA / KPI reports Capacity and performance reports Provide actionable insights through reporting and analytics Operations & Support Provide L2/L3 support for monitoring tools and alert issues Troubleshoot monitoring gaps, false alerts, and tool failures Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions Collaboration & Governance Work with network, server, and cloud teams to ensure complete monitoring coverage Participate in Major Incident calls and resolution bridges Ensure compliance with monitoring standards and audit requirements Tools & Platforms Mandatory experience in: LogicMonitor / SolarWinds / Dynatrace / Moogsoft / Nagios [Hello Ever...have 11+ | Viva Engage] ITSM tools: ServiceNow (Incident, Change, Problem Management) Observability / AIOps tools (good to have) Technical Skills Understanding of: SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, APIs Event correlation and alerting mechanisms Scripting (good to have): Python / Shell for automation and integrations Networking Fundamentals Basic to intermediate knowledge of: LAN/WAN, Routing & Switching Firewalls, Load Balancers Understanding of network performance metrics and troubleshooting Operational Skills ITIL process knowledge (Incident, Problem, Change) Experience in 24x7 NOC / global support environments Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Experience & Qualification 5–8 years experience in Network Tools / Monitoring / NOC Experience in enterprise monitoring environments Certifications (preferred): ITIL Foundation Vendor-specific monitoring tool certifications Key Competencies Strong problem-solving and analytical ability Attention to detail (monitoring accuracy, alert tuning) Stakeholder coordination across teams Continuous improvement mindset Success Metrics Reduction in alert noise (%) Monitoring coverage of network devices (%) Improvement in Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) SLA adherence for incident response

Skill Requirements
