Job Summary
The IBM ELM Specialist will be responsible for planning and executing the migration of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management (formerly CLM) tools, including Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Engineering Test Management (ETM), and Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next (DNG). This role involves complex database migrations, server upgrades, data validation, and ensuring traceability across the digital thread
Key Responsibilities
Migration Planning: Design migration strategies, including infrastructure upgrades, operating system changes, or database vendor shifts (e.g., SQL Server/Derby to Db2/Oracle).Execution: Execute repository export/import, database migrations, and repotools commands to move data safely.Database Management: Perform database-level tasks including backing up, restructuring, and re-indexing data.Component Upgrades: Upgrade ELM application servers and Jazz Team Servers (JTS) to newer versions, such as v7.0.x to v7.1.x.Environment Setup: Configure new production environments, including setting up reverse proxies (IHS), Jazz Authorization Server (JAS), and managing SSL certificates.Data Validation: Conduct smoke tests and verify data integrity (links, work items, artifacts) post-migration.Traceability Maintenance: Run Link Index Provider (LDX) and Lifecycle Query Engine (LQE) re-indexing for maintaining global configurations
Skill Requirements
Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in administering or migrating IBM ELM/CLM tools.Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of repotools (export/import), SQL, and database technologies (Db2, Oracle, SQL Server).Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC).Environment: Experience with Windows Server and Linux environments for ELM deployments.Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (Java, Python, or JavaScript) for automation tasks.Process Knowledge: Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and DevOps frameworks
Experience with ELM migration (All tools).Experience in migrating to cloud-based environments (Azure).Knowledge of setting up Jazz Authorization Server (JAS) with OIDC/OAuth 2.0

Problem-Solving: Strong skills in troubleshooting issues during the repotools import/export process.
