Job Summary

To plan, deploy and manage the testing effort/work plans for the project [module] to meet the client /internal requirements as per the quality standards prescribed.

Key Responsibilities

1. To participate in functional as well as technical discussions with the client /team to understand functional /design specifications ,highlight performance concerns, inconsistencies ,prepare automated test scripts,maintain test case suite,ensure the appropriate test environments and infrastructures are in place/kept upto date.
2. To develop and continuously improve automated tests as new system features/ enhancements are developed and accordingly create work plans| monitor and track the work schedule for on time delivery as per the defined quality standards.
3. To create reusable /scalable test automation framework, develop test strategies/plans, maintain test data and to submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations.
4. To develop/guide and mentor QA engineers in the use of the testing framework , enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity.

Role Overview
We are looking for a Test Manager with 6–8 years of experience to manage and drive end‑to‑end testing activities for Retail IT applications in a development‑focused environment.
The role involves test planning, execution oversight, defect management, and coordination with development and business teams to ensure delivery of high‑quality retail solutions across e‑commerce, POS, ERP, and integrated systems.

Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Strategy

Define and execute test strategy and test plans for retail IT applications.
Estimate testing efforts, plan resources, and manage testing schedules.
Ensure testing aligns with development and release cycles.

Test Execution Management

Manage execution of:

Functional Testing
System & Integration Testing
Regression Testing
Support for UAT


Ensure complete coverage of retail business scenarios and workflows.
Monitor test progress and ensure timely defect closure.

Retail Domain Testing

Oversee testing of Retail IT systems, including:

E‑commerce platforms
POS and store systems
Inventory, pricing, promotions, and payments
Order Management, fulfillment, and returns


Validate end‑to‑end retail flows such as order‑to‑cash and replenishment.

Defect & Quality Management

Manage defect lifecycle using tools like JIRA / ALM.
Perform defect triage and coordinate fixes with development teams.
Track and report quality metrics, risks, and release readiness.

Team & Stakeholder Coordination

Lead and guide test engineers and test leads.
Work closely with developers, product owners, and business users.
Participate in agile ceremonies and release sign‑offs.


Required Skills & Experience
Core Testing Skills

6–8 years of experience in software testing / QA management
Strong experience in:

Test planning and execution management
Defect management and reporting
Testing in development‑led environments (Agile / Hybrid)



Retail IT Domain Knowledge

Experience working in the Retail IT domain
Good understanding of:

E‑commerce and omnichannel retail flows
Inventory, pricing, promotions, and payments
ERP / POS / OMS integrations



Tools & Methodologies

Hands‑on experience with test management and defect tools (JIRA, Zephyr, ALM, TestRail, etc.)
Familiarity with automation testing concepts and CI/CD pipelines
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments


Good to Have

Exposure to automation and performance testing
Experience testing cloud‑based retail platforms
ISTQB or equivalent certification
Knowledge of retail compliance and security testing


Soft Skills & Competencies

Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
Clear communication and reporting abilities
Risk‑based testing mindset
Ability to manage multiple releases and tight timelines
Experience working on business‑critical retail applications
