Job Summary
In this role , you will be responsible for overseeing the Functional Safety processes, utilizing ISO 26262. Your primary focus will be on ensuring efficient and effective product Functionality and Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop hardware from initial conceptual stages through to final bring up (Prototype Hardware)
- Apply varying levels of engineering disciplines (i.e. mechanical, electrical, software) to assess the current state of robots and make recommendations to improve efficiency or solve technical problems
- Independently assess projects, vet complexities, and understand goals to determine the most effective project plan.
- Cover all aspects of a project's requirements from conceptual design, analysis, 3D CAD, drafting, BOM generation, fabrication, assembly,testing through to report documentation
- Conduct ISO 12100 risk assessments on custom-built robotic cells and mechatronic prototypes.
- Design and validate Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF), including E-stops, light curtains, and interlocking systems.
- Review mechatronic designs (schematics and CAD) to ensure "Safety by Design" principles are met before physical assembly.
- Ensure lab operations comply with global and local standards such as ISO 10218 (Robots for industrial environments) and ANSI/RIA R15.06.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for high-voltage testing, battery storage (Li-ion safety), and laser/hydrolic systems.
- Lead incident investigations and "Root Cause Analysis" (RCA) for any equipment failures or near-missesUse tools like BGIA SISTEMA to verify the performance levels of safety functions.
Skill Requirements
1. Certified ISO 26262 Expert
2. Strong Safety process experience.
3. Solid understanding of product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes
4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
5. Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Compensation and Benefits
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
