Job Summary
The Hardware Asset Management Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's hardware assets throughout their lifecycle. This includes tracking and managing hardware inventory, ensuring compliance with asset management policies, and supporting the implementation of asset management processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Configuration and Asset Management processes
- Work with ITIL Incident Management, Service Asset, and Configuration Management practices
- Use the Configuration Management System (CMS) to track all computing assets and configurations
- Provide accurate information on Configuration Items (CIs)
- Verify configuration records against infrastructure and correct discrepancies
- Ensure accuracy for Incident, Problem, and Change Management support
- Maintain timely and accurate recording of asset parameters in the CMDB
- Identify, control, maintain, and verify hardware, software, and documentation assets
- Develop and maintain documented process flows and procedures
- Support implementation of asset management policies
- Implement asset management controls for reconciliation and disposal
- Plan, coordinate, and track assets throughout their lifecycle
- Utilize asset management systems to analyze and track asset data
- Monitor software licensing to ensure compliance with agreements
- Identify cost savings and optimize asset utilization
- Ensure governance and accuracy of CMDB data
- Collaborate with IT teams for asset lifecycle tracking
- Support audit compliance and process alignment with ITSM functions
- Align Asset Management with Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- Analyze performance data to evaluate IT process effectiveness
- Monitor and report on asset and licensing compliance
- Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Work effectively in dynamic environments and within cross-functional teams
- Use ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, and JIRA
- Track tasks, manage assignments, and deliver within timelines
- Apply knowledge of hardware and software asset management principles
