Job Summary
Seeking highly skilled Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) Engineer to lead and execute the migration from traditional (RPM-based) Ansible Automation Platform deployments to the latest container-based Ansible Automation Platform version (AAP 2.6 containerized / 2.7+). • This role is responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, validation, and stabilization of the containerized platform while ensuring enterprise-grade security, high availability, and minimal downtime. Required Skills & Experience • 6+ years of experience with Ansible Automation Platform or AWX • Hands-on experience in migrating RPM-based AAP to containerized AAP • Strong Linux (RHEL 8/9) administration skills • Solid understanding of OpenShift, or Kubernetes and preferably in Red hat OpenShift platform. • Knowledge of PostgreSQL and container networking Preferred Skills • Good to have Red Hat Ansible or OpenShift certifications • Experience with HA container topologies • CI/CD and GitOps integration experience Key Responsibilities : AAP Migration & Modernization • Lead end-to-end migration from RPM-based AAP (2.4/2.5/2.6) to container-based AAP • Design and execute migration strategies for Automation Controller, Automation Hub, Platform Gateway, and Event-Driven Ansible (EDA) • Migrate inventories, credentials, job templates, execution environments, RBAC, workflows, and projects • Ensure alignment with Red Hat supported container deployment models Container & Infrastructure Management • Deploy containerized AAP using OpenShift • Configure Execution Environments and container registries • Integrate containerized AAP with external PostgreSQL databases • Implement persistent storage, networking, and HA configurations Backup, Validation & Risk Mitigation • Perform pre-migration backups and configuration exports • Execute functional, regression, and performance validation post-migration • Develop rollback and disaster recovery plans • Troubleshoot container, database, and platform-level issues Security & Identity Integration • Integrate LDAP, SAML, or AD authentication • Secure migration of secrets, certificates, and credentials • Apply Red Hat container security and platform hardening best practices Documentation & Knowledge Transfer • Create detailed migration runbooks and architecture documentation • Conduct knowledge transfer and handover sessions • Document lessons learned and operational best practices
