Technical Business Analyst
Role Overview
The Technical Business Analyst acts as a key interface between business stakeholders (Key Users and Super Key Users) and IT development teams. The role focuses on the functional and technical analysis, deployment, support, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and production-related IT solutions (ERP, MES, TPS, SAP), within an Agile delivery framework.
The position combines strong business understanding with solid technical awareness, ensuring that solutions meet operational needs while remaining technically robust and scalable.
This role encompasses several complementary responsibilities, including:
· Technical Business Analyst
· AMOA / Functional Consultant
· Functional Support Consultant
· ERP Consultant (Production module)
· Application Owner / Application Manager
· Application Project Lead (functional scope)
Professional Experience
· Deployment of production IT solutions in industrial environments
· End-user training and change support for new solutions
· Functional support for business users in operational contexts
· Strong industrial background (pharmaceuticals, plastics, food industry, automotive, aerospace, etc.)
Systems & Software Expertise
Experience or strong functional and technical knowledge of the following systems, in order of preference:
1. ERP systems (Production modules)
2. Product Configurators
3. Traceability Management Solutions
4. MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
5. SCM (Supply Chain Management)
6. WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
7. QMS (Quality Management Systems)
Key Responsibilities
Support to Key Users (KU) and Super Key Users (SKU)
· Answer functional and technical questions related to TPS, MES, SAP, and related applications
· Support Super Key Users in the analysis of new, complex, or non-standard business processes
· Act as the functional and technical interface between business users (KU/SKU) and TPS development teams
· Support business users during go-live and hypercare phases
· Assist Super Key Users in formulating enhancement and evolution requests
Agile & Delivery Activities
· Qualify, structure, and prioritize incidents, tasks, and change requests
· Perform business and technical impact analysis
· Contribute to backlog refinement by translating business needs into clear functional requirements or user stories
· Participate in Agile ceremonies as a functional and technical contributor
· Contribute to business acceptance testing (UAT) and validation activities
Skills & Competencies
· English proficiency: minimum B2 level (spoken and written)
· Strong functional analysis and problem-solving skills
· Ability to understand and challenge technical solutions
· SQL knowledge is a plus (not mandatory)
· Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional, international teams
Education & Experience Level
· Master’s degree (Bac+5) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or
· Bachelor’s degree (Bac+3) with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
Key Responsibilities
2. Conduct feasibility studies, impact assessments, and risk analysis to support decision-making processes.
3. Create detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
4. Collaborate with product owners, project managers, and development teams to ensure project deliverables meet business objectives and adhere to agile methodologies.
5. Facilitate workshops, meetings, and feedback sessions to gather requirements and ensure stakeholder alignment.
6. Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions to streamline processes and optimize business performance.
7. Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to drive continuous improvement and agile best practices.
Skill Requirements
2. Experience with agile methodologies such as scrum, kanban, or safe.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
5. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
6. Knowledge of process modeling, data analysis, and requirements management.
7. Certification in business analysis (e.g., cbap) and agile methodologies (e.g., certified scrum master) is a plus.
