Product Market Lead - Energy Hubs & Flex
Gradyent
About Us
Gradyent is a leading software provider that helps cities and industry decarbonise faster by digitising, optimising, and transforming their heating grids with our Digital Twin Platform.
Providing heating for homes, buildings, and industry accounts for roughly 50% of global energy consumption. Heating is one of the largest opportunities in the world to decarbonise. We believe that digital and data play a key role in this transformation and that traditional tooling for District Heating and Industrial Steam Grids has been insufficient.
The team consists of 120+ energy specialists, engineers, data scientists and top-tier consulting alumni and we have two offices: one in Rotterdam and one in Berlin. We’re backed by investors Blue Earth Capital, SEB Greentech Ventures, Capricorn Partners, Eneco, ENERGIIQ, and Helen Ventures and recently raised Series B. We won the “Sustainability Pioneer” award of the Deloitte Fast50 2024.
What You Will Do
As Product Market Lead (PML) energy hubs & flex, you will be our expert on sector-coupling between heating and power grids. Utilities are often managing both power producing and consuming assets and want to deploy these in the most efficient way. Some may even own both heating and power grids. They are increasingly trading on different electricity markets. As PML you have a key role in our organization: you will be the one that will understand these challenges and connects the dots to our product: both from a deep technical and business value perspective.
The PML is the one that can make our solution distinctive from other solutions in the market, shapes the future of our product, and designs new use cases. A PML stands at the forefront of our product innovation, and sits next to our client. PMLs are often the most qualified resource on a call, and both our clients and the internal organization often put a lot of trust in PML. Also, internally, the PML is voice of the customer within Gradyent and sits close to strategic product decisions. The PML keeps an eye on the delivery to ensure our innovations are leading to happy customers.
In this role you will maintain deep knowledge of sector-coupling assets (CHPs, heat pumps, e-boilers), e-markets (day-ahead, intraday, balancing and reserve), energy hubs and energy flexibility. You will uncover client needs, understand alternative solutions in the market on a deep technical level, collaborate with sales, marketing and product to drive adoption and upsell, invent new use cases and sharpen our product strategy. You will be the bridge between business development, marketing, product and operations and train the organization on what we sell.
Responsibilities:
Set the strategy for our production & flexibility modules, and design the use cases our clients need to take the opportunity of electricity volatility
Compare our production scheduling module to existing, traditional market alternatives and uniquely position us in the market
Design the messaging for our flexibility capabilities and train marketing and sales on it, and create new content where needed
Support in packaging and pricing our flexibility solutions
Drive strategic customer and partnership engagements and lead high-stake technical conversations
Closely watch market trends on e-markets and energy hubs and translate that into sellable propositions and use cases
Be the voice of the market and customer within Gradyent
Join our sales process by giving demo’s of Digital Twins and explain our technology
Deep-dive on market and sector-coupling and coach client-facing teams with the right story
Being the trustworthy touchpoint for the clients and build relationships, even in ambiguous situations
Align with Ops, Product, and Sales teams across regions to find the best solution & journey for new client situations, and guide the roadmap for our flexibility capabilities
Work closely together with account management & operations to exploit energy flexibility of existing customers by upselling new use cases and features
