In this role, you will join the team responsible for producing mRNA at our Delft facility. Working in a collaborative and hands-on laboratory environment, you will contribute to the manufacturing, purification, quality control, and documentation of mRNA products, helping ensure reliable delivery to researchers and biotech innovators across Europe.

Job title: mRNA Production Technician

Location: Biotech Campus Delft, South Holland, Netherlands

Scheme: 100% onsite

Time: Full‑time (40 hours / week) Mon-Fri 9:00-17:30.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Process DNA via PCR, digestion, and purification to prepare template for in-vitro transcription.
  • Perform various enzymatic reactions to produce and process mRNA.
  • Purify mRNA using HPLC, spin columns, and other technologies.
  • Run quality checks on in-process and final products. This includes gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, production raw materials and consumables etc.
  • Follow production S.O.P.s to ensure compliance to validated processes.
  • Keep good documentation for production processes and materials used in process.
  • Keep track of inventory using an inventory management system.
  • Order materials internally and externally for production use.
  • Assists with the multistep synthesis and process development of key reagents.
  • Conduct routine lab maintenance procedures.
  • Any other tasks needed as deemed by production manager.
What We Expect From You
  • Completed MBO Level 4, Associate Degree (Ad), HBO Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent international qualification in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Experience working with mRNA or oligonucleotide chemistry.
  • Experience with PCR, HPLC, or enzymatic reactions.
  • Experience with techniques commonly used in the isolation and characterization of organic intermediates (column chromatography, HPLC, MS, etc.).
  • Ability to work as part of a small cross-disciplinary team to accomplish both short term and long term goals.
  • Experience successfully working in a fast-pace, high-demand environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate with peers and managers in a polite and concise manner is highly desirable.
  • Fluent in English.
