Are you a Master’s student in Law with an interest in international affairs, regulatory complexity, and real-world legal challenges? Join Fugro’s Global Compliance team and gain hands-on experience in navigating sanctions compliance in a global business environment. You’ll play an active role in supporting Fugro’s internal processes for reviewing business activities that may be subject to sanctions risks.

Your Role

• Familiarizing yourself with key sanctions regimes, such as those of the US, EU, and UK, and understanding how they apply to Fugro’s global operations;

• Applying your legal knowledge to assess business requests (e.g. “Can we operate in this country or work with this client?”) and identify potential sanctions implications;

• Understanding the role of due diligence screening and learning how to collect and analyse background information to support informed decision-making;

• Drafting practical tools and materials, such as templates, summaries, or guidance documents, to help the business navigate sanctions requirements more effectively;

• Participating in internal discussions aimed at improving the efficiency and user-friendliness of our compliance processes.

Your Track Record

• A Master’s student in International Law, European Law, or similar;

• Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable with complexity;

• Available at least 3 days per week for 3–6 months (start date flexible).
