For our head office in Leidschendam, the Netherlands, we are looking for a Business Controller to join our finance team and to support our mission to be seen as true financial business partner, assisting the company to achieve its mission and goals.

As a team we provide Fugro management with timely, transparent, and meaningful management information and business insights to support fact-based decision-making. At all times we ensure integer financial results that are compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements. We continuously strive for world-class efficiency, levering one standardized IT landscape with transactional- and rule-based-accounting from Shared Service Centers.

In this varied role you work closely together with Group Control, Corporate Finance and Regional Control.

Your role

• You are the business partner to senior function leads such as Human Resources, Legal, Procurement, Finance and HSE;

• You analyse and discuss drivers of the costs in preparation of strategic financial planning and formulation of initiatives;

• You ensure periodic and ad-hoc analyses of cost lines including monthly management reporting and of global functional costs to give insight in cost development;

• You provide support on financial aspects of costs and support the functional leads in managing their budgets and creating transparency on global cost of ownership of the function;

• You coordinate financial reporting functions for the activities in non-operational. These functions may include accounting, financial reporting, control, financial planning and analysis, cash management etc.;

• You take care of budgeting and control of cost centers.

Your track record

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance & Control or similar discipline, and multiple years of experience as a Business Analyst within in international environment;

• You have experience as a business line, regional and/or controller of an operating company, and a successful track record in leading (project) teams;

• You have good accounting knowledge both with IFRS and Statutory accounting and tax requirements;

• You take ownership and are a result-oriented person always looking to improve and develop yourself further;

• You hold a high level of integrity and have a strong organisational and analytical skillset;

• You are an excellent communicator, influencer, and team player with excellent English language skills (both written and oral) who feels comfortable in an international & multi-stakeholder setting.
