The People Partner for the Netherlands plays an important role in supporting employees and managers across the employee lifecycle, acting as a trusted first point of contact for a broad range of people-related topics. The role combines strong operational delivery with practical advisory support, ensuring local needs are met while aligning with wider organisational policies, standards, and ways of working.
Working as part of the local HR team and in close partnership with international colleagues, the role supports core HR processes including employee queries, onboarding, absence and illness management, employee relations support, engagement activity, and HR communications. The role also contributes to local projects and continuous improvement activity, helping to create a positive, compliant, and high-performing employee experience in the Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to employees and managers across a broad range of people topics, acting as a trusted local point of contact.
- Manage employee lifecycle activity including onboarding, contract and policy related administration, and support for employee queries that cannot be resolved by the Shared Service Centre.
- Manage absence and illness processes in close collaboration with the Arbodienst, including case follow up, manager guidance, and regular review of open matters.
- Support managers with employee relations matters, helping to ensure timely, fair, and compliant handling of issues in line with Dutch employment requirements and company policy.
- Coordinate and facilitate onboarding activity, including the First Working Day experience for new hires.
- Support delivery of key people processes and cyclical activity, including engagement actions, performance follow up, and other local people priorities as required.
- Prepare and publish HR-related communications and contribute to initiatives that improve colleague understanding, engagement, and employee experience.
- Contribute to local and wider HR projects, using insight and initiative to identify improvements and support consistent, high-quality HR delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with the local HR team, Shared Service Centre, and international HR colleagues to ensure joined-up and practical support to the business.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor degree in HRM or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Relevant HR experience in a generalist, advisor, or people partnering role, ideally within an international or matrixed environment.
- Good understanding of Dutch employment practices and confidence supporting absence, illness, and employee relations matters.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with employees and managers at different levels.
- Able to balance operational delivery with sound judgement, problem solving, and a proactive approach to identifying issues and improvements.
- Organised and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Fluent Dutch language skills and confidence communicating in English.
Desirable
- Experience supporting engagement activity, local HR communications, or broader HR improvement projects.
- Experience working with occupational health providers or equivalent external partners.
