The Solution Architect is a technical role within NCC Group’s Sales Engineering & Field Strategy team, responsible for designing and shaping cybersecurity solutions that address client needs across professional and managed services. This role works closely with clients and internal teams to understand requirements, scope engagements, and develop commercially viable solutions aligned with NCC Group’s capabilities.
Solution Architects lead solution design for small-to-medium opportunities and support more complex engagements under the guidance of Senior and Principal Solution Architects. They contribute to proposals, statements of work, and technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across sales, delivery, and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop technical solution designs for client opportunities, ensuring feasibility and alignment with NCC Group’s service portfolio.
  • Act as a technical advisor during pre-sales engagements, supporting scope definition and solution shaping.
  • Produce high-quality client-facing documentation, including proposals, statements of work, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Delivery, and Product Management teams to ensure solutions meet client requirements and internal standards.
  • Support bid responses and RFx submissions with technical input and cost considerations.
  • Maintain awareness of cybersecurity trends and NCC Group service offerings to inform solution design.
  • Assist Senior and Principal Solution Architects on complex, multi-service engagements.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives to improve presales processes, templates, and best practices.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in a presales, solution architecture, or technical consultancy role within cybersecurity or technology services.
  • Strong understanding of core cybersecurity domains (e.g. offensive security, defensive operations, cloud security, GRC).
  • Ability to design and communicate solutions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to balance client requirements and profitability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical documentation tools.
Desired Requirements
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent experience.
  • Security Check (SC) clearance
  • Experience responding to RFPs and shaping solutions for multi-service opportunities.
  • Knowledge of managed security services (e.g., SOC, MDR) and incident response readiness.
  • Exposure to regulated sectors (e.g. Financial Services, Energy, Critical Infrastructure).
  • Familiarity with privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g. GDPR).
