Your Role as a Junior Technical Specialist

Location: Delft or Madrid

In short:

Kick-start your cybersecurity career with Fox-IT (part of NCC Group). You’ll help keep our customers’ security platforms running smoothly - mainly Splunk (SIEM) and EDR tools like Carbon Black, SentinelOne, and CrowdStrike. No prior Splunk/EDR experience needed: you’ll learn on the job with structured training and certifications.

You’ll join our Technical Operations (T-Ops) team of six in Managed Services, working closely with colleagues in the Netherlands, UK, and Spain.

What you will do (entry-level scope)

• Triage and investigate basic technical issues and alerts, following runbooks/playbooks.
• Perform routine checks on Splunk and EDR platforms (health checks, basic admin tasks).
• Log, update, and close tickets with clear notes; escalate when needed.
• Shadow senior engineers and assist with slight changes (under supervision).
• Document fixes and contribute to simple “how-to” guides for the team.
• Take part in training and complete agreed certifications (we’ll support you).

Requirements:

• 0–1 years’ experience in IT support, ops, or similar (internships and projects count).
• Comfortable troubleshooting software/application issues (first-line or lab/project experience welcome).
• Basic Linux knowledge is a plus (or keen to learn).
• Curious, methodical, and happy to ask questions and collaborate.
• Strong English communication and Dutch or Spanish is a plus.
