Your Role

As a Senior Business Analyst within one of the Deal-Flow & Relationship Management (DRM) domain teams, you play a pivotal role in driving data-driven, user-centric solutions. You act as the bridge between business and technology, ensuring that complex requirements are translated into scalable, high-quality solutions.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Translating business needs into clear, well-structured user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Converting the high-level enterprise data model into implementable technical data models (e.g., Mendix) and defining integration patterns across systems.
  • Partnering closely with the Product Owner to refine and prioritize the backlog, balancing business value, dependencies, and technical feasibility.
  • Leading and facilitating refinement sessions, stakeholder workshops, and interviews across Investment, Credit, Operations, and other key departments.
  • Analyzing business data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensuring data quality by validating datasets, identifying inconsistencies, and contributing to stronger data governance practices.
  • Collaborating across teams to support the development and operation of integrations, shared data assets, and reporting solutions.

  • Gross yearly salary ranging from EUR 90-110K (based on 40 hours per week, including 8% holiday allowance and 13th month) depending on your seniority, years of relevant experience, and background).

Your Team

You will be part of the Business Insights & Process Transformation department, which leads and drives FMO’s long-term change agenda. The department plays a key role in enabling the organization to adapt to evolving market conditions, regulatory requirements, and strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with FMO’s overall strategy.Within this department, you will be working in the Deal-Flow & Relationship Management (DRM) domain. This domain consists of multiple cross-functional teams focused on supporting the scalable growth of FMO’s investment portfolio. The teams are dedicated to improving efficiency through streamlined processes and intuitive, user-friendly applications—ultimately enhancing both employee experience and customer satisfaction.

Your Background

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong analytical mindset and proven experience in agile environments within the banking sector. Given the nature of the role and team setup, candidates must already be based in the Netherlands.

Required experience:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • At least 10 years of overall professional experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a relevant Business or Data Analyst role.
  • At least 5 years of experience within the banking sector, preferably in the lending domain.
  • Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment (must-have).
  • Experience in (low-code) application development environments is strongly preferred.

Core competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex challenges into clear, actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in an agile delivery setting.
  • A data-driven mindset, with the ability to support decisions through analysis and evidence.
  • Hands-on experience with process modelling, data modelling, and data analysis.
  • Experience working with transactional and operational data models (not limited to reporting layers).
  • Ability to investigate incidents and data inconsistencies using SQL.
  • Experience with ad-hoc data extraction to support day-to-day business operations.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, DAX, and M.
