Your role

Our ICT department oversees all IT related topics for FMO and includes four dynamic teams. All teams work with clear guidance from Enterprise Architecture and Quality & Control.

Our development teams consist of members from different subdepartments in order to operate cross functional. The Teams are responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, and improving the solutions. we operate full ‘DevOps’.

Next to the development teams, for this assignment you will be working closely together with our infrastructure team and the data management department.

The whole organization is around 800 employees and counting with more than 65 nationalities. We are a diverse and dynamic engineering team within the ICT department and with the main mission of contributing to a better world investing in emerging countries and in vulnerable populations.

We are located in The Hague, nearby the train station Laan van NOI. Our offices are bright and modern, supporting our hybrid way of working.

The team

As an intern, you will work in a very international team alongside young professionals, experienced seniors, and engage with departments across FMO.

One of the programs running within our ICT department currently is the Data center outsourcing. The program is responsible migrate our data center to an external party. Part of this outsourcing is also defining a test strategy going forward to test our software solutions.

Test-data-management plays a key role in our test strategy where we state how to work with test data in combination with National and European regulations around data and privacy.

During this assignment you will be exploring the different approaches for managing test data and how to feed our test environments for different departments. Next to advising on test data management based on the input from the organization, you will deep-dive in the aspect of Data masking: What data is dealt with in the different departments, what methods can be used, what data points need masking and what masking mechanisms should be applied.

FMO offers a competitive internship compensation of EUR 750 net based on a 5-day (40 hours) week.

Your background

• You have a strong interest in software testing and specifically on large sets of data.
• You are currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in the area of computer science, Data analytics or Data management.

• This internship is a requirement for your study (ECTS-eligible).
• You are available for five to six months, for 4 or 5 days per week in the period of August/September to March/April.
• You are proactive and able to work independently.
• You are studying and living in the Netherlands.
• You are fluent in English.
