This position is engaged in all sales phases – from cold sell calls to contractual awards, and the handover of such to the project execution and delivery organization. Focus areas of responsibility are as follows:

  • Implement and continuously improve the local PWS (Power & Water Solutions) sales strategy and tactics throughout the agreed region, developing the business leveraging Emerson’s product portfolio
  • Identify and prospect, develop, drive, and close sales opportunities
  • Own the allocated order budget throughout each fiscal year
  • Account management for assigned customers

The Outside Sales Engineer reports to the SYSS Sales Director and has dotted-line collaborative responsibility with the European Business Support organization.

Who You Are:

You provide timely and helpful information to individuals across the organization. You focus on priorities and set stretch goals. For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Power industry fluency and application knowledge is mandatory.
  • Proven track record of direct selling in a complex technical and commercial sales environment.
  • Degree level in Engineering discipline (B.Sc. or higher) or equivalent.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing - Dutch as well as English fluency required.
  • Experience of developing successful relationships internally and externally, cross functionally, within a matrix organization.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (domestically) in order to fulfil duties of the role, expected 25% to 50% of time.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Driving license.

The Outside Sales Engineers main task is to drive sales of automation systems within the power generation, transmission, and distribution sectors throughout the Benelux region, with an emphasis on the traditional gas power, renewables & battery storage power market.
