Are you ready to take the lead in shaping international trade compliance across regions?
We’re looking for a Senior Expert, Regional Import & Export who will play a pivotal role in optimizing and overseeing customs operations within our global supply chain. In this role, you’ll be the key driver behind efficient and compliant logistics processes, working closely with forwarders, customs agents, suppliers, and factories to ensure smooth import and export activities.
This role focuses on driving supplier performance, establishing governance frameworks, and fostering continuous improvement to enhance compliance with the standards and deadlines required by the department.
The Sr Expert Regional Import & Export represents the organization towards European customs authorities & related authorities and is the first point of contact for issues pertaining receipts of goods into the EU. Avoiding issues that affect the regular development of customs clearance.
Your key responsibilities
- Coordinate Trade Compliance Initiatives: Implement and manage a robust Import & Export Compliance Program in close collaboration with our Global Trade & Customs Manager. Ensure full adherence to international trade regulations across the EU, UK, Middle East, Africa, and other global jurisdictions
- Ensure the effective implementation of compliance within the organization: Carry out the established import/export control policies and procedures that support compliance across multiple countries. Promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization
- Support Global Operations: Ensure smooth and compliant import/export activities across our global production sites (China, Australia, USA, EU). Provide expert guidance on trade compliance requirements and best practices
- Oversee Documentation and Regulatory Filings: Manage the preparation, submission, and review of all import/export documentation. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with EU and UK regulations. Maintain organized records for audits and regulatory reviews
- Drive Broker Performance and Compliance Reporting: Analyze customs broker performance data, provide actionable insights, and lead quarterly Customs & Compliance meetings. Recommend improvements to maintain high compliance standards and operational efficiency
- Manage Trade Licenses and Exemptions: Oversee the application, renewal, and maintenance of import/export licenses (e.g., OPR, AEO). Ensure timely submissions and manage exemptions with complete and compliant documentation
- Champion Risk Management and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Identify compliance risks and implement proactive measures to reduce disruptions. Collaborate closely with internal teams (logistics, supply chain, legal, global trade compliance) and external partners (e.g., COKZ, NVWA, KVK, freight forwarders, legal advisors) to ensure seamless and compliant operations

- Based on your experience we will offer you a base salary of € 73,513 to € 86,885 per year (including holiday allowance and 13th month) and extra benefits, such as 25 holiday days, a bonus, the option to buy more holiday days with a 6% my choice budget and much more
You Bring
- Solid knowledge of EU and UK customs regulations, export controls, broker management, and related trade compliance laws
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing import/export compliance programs, preferably within the EU and UK; customs broker certification required
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in International Trade, Finance, Logistics Management, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks, develop effective solutions, and drive continuous improvement in logistics processes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience liaising with regulatory authorities and external partners
- Proficiency in English and Dutch is required; French is a plus
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially in Excel; familiarity with T1 traffic, AEO, and OPR licenses is a strong advantage
