Job description

If someone is  well informed about research and innovation done at TU Delft, it is you. On top of that, you are a key player in the process of acquiring grants! As EU Grant advisor you help researchers to get their projects funded by Horizon Europe and other European programmes. To achieve maximum impact, TU Delft collaborates with start-ups, companies and governmental organisations. Obviously, you regularly cooperate with these partners. Sometimes you help researchers obtain a personal grant. 

You are there to provide the right support to obtain the right funding. You review and screen the grant application of researchers before submission, and/ or you guide and facilitate the consortium towards a succesful grant application. You work together with your direct funding advice colleagues and experts from other support teams, such as business developers, IP support and contract managers. You assess whether a grant application has the potential for success or not. You share your (expert) view with the researcher. You develop yourself into a leading expert in grants. You are part of the EU and NL Research Funding teams of the Innovation & Impact Centre You work together with experienced colleagues (some have black belt level expertise of EU funding programmes) assisting TU Delft and its researchers and innovators to be among the most succesful in Europe. Interesting aspect of the job is that you develop yourself professionally and personally in terms of content too: as you work on grant applications you get state-of-the-art insight in research and innovation in different areas, such as climate, energy, health, robotics and AI, quantum and nanotechnology. Requirements

  • Relevant university level education, affinity with the academic world.
  • 2-5 years of experience in pre-award advising and/or writing EU grant proposals is a must, preferably in a relevant work experience at a company/advisory agency, a start-up or knowledge institute or university in the European Union.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of grant application processes, proposal preparation in the participant portal etc., in particular Horizon Europe and related programs is essential.
  • Previous experience with European Defense Fund and DIANA grants and procedures is desirable.
  • Team player, proactive attitude, ability to handle multiple deadlines, ability to understand S&T ideas quickly, experience in (post award) project management is not required.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English are a must.
  • Command of the Dutch language, Microsoft Office applications is a plus and recommended.

Conditions of employment

  • Duration of contract is 1 year with prospect of permanent.
  • A job of 34-40  hours per week.
  • A salary based on scale 11 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a minimum of €4,332 and a maximum of €5,929 gross per month, plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.

You will join the Innovation & Impact Centre (I&IC), which is responsible for valorisation - the university's third core task alongside education and research.
