Job description
Design visualization and sketching play an essential role in the education programs at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering. From generating product ideas, drawing mindmaps, and evaluating concepts to presenting proposals and strategic roadmaps, high-quality visualization is crucial. Our drawing and visualization education is internationally recognized, maintaining strong ties with professional studios and consultancies.
As Teacher in Design Sketching and Visualization at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, you will join the teaching staff responsible for sketching and visualization education. You will work in an international, inspiring environment, teaching in both the Bachelor and Master programs, often in close connection to design projects. Education is frequently delivered in multidisciplinary project settings, requiring collaboration across different areas of expertise.
You will contribute to various courses on design sketching, analog and digital visualization techniques, and support students in developing their visualization skills as part of their design process. This can take place in both dedicated visualization courses as well as integral part of design project courses in which visualizations are part of the programme. Collaboration within the design visualization team and with other faculty disciplines is a key aspect of this position.
Job requirements
- MSc. degree in Industrial Design (or equivalent).
- Excellent skills in design sketching and visualization techniques (both analog and digital).
- Preferably relevant experience in design and/or consultancy practice.
- Teaching skills and experience, with a passion for design education.
- Affinity with design research and working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong social and communication skills.
- Fluent in both Dutch and English (oral and written).

Faculty Industrial Design Engineering

Conditions of employment
- Duration of contract is 2 years. Temporary.
- A job of 22,8-24 hours per week.
- A salary based on Scale 10 of the CAO for Dutch Universities with a salary between €3546 - €5538 gross per month based on a fulltime contract (38 hours), plus 8% holiday allowance and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.
