The International & European Law programme is looking for a lecturer in the area of EU Business Law with a particular focus on teaching internal market law and EU Labour Law. An ideal candidate will have an interest in connecting these areas to the latest developments in the European Digital Economy, and will be able to prepare our students for careers in which they navigate current and future challenges in digitalisation, AI and sustainability.

Our LAW programme has a competence based curriculum with a strong focus on teaching legal and professional skills. For this reason, applications from candidates with experience in professional practice are especially welcome.

What do we expect from you?
When reading through your resume and cover letter, we would like to see that you have:

  • A master’s degree in a relevant area of law;
  • Holds or would be willing to obtain a teaching qualification (BDB);
  • You are a team player and has successfully worked in a large multi-cultural team;
  • A residency permit that allows full time work in The Netherlands;
  • Excellent language skills in English (basic comprehension of Dutch is welcome);
  • You look forward to contributing to a collaborative learning and teaching environment with people from different cultural backgrounds;
  • You are able to connect, motivate and communicate with our students during their development towards becoming legal professionals.

  • We really want you to be successful and that you enjoy yourself at THUAS. That is why we offer you:
  • An appointment of 1,0 fte FTE, 40 hours per week, in a temporary position from August 24 (half year of year contract);
  • A salary ranging from € 4.632,17 to € 6.677,44 per month, based on a full-time position (scale 11);
  • 8% holiday pay;
  • A guaranteed end-of-year pay of 8.3%;
  • The space and resources for professional and personal development;
  • An easily accessible workspace Holland Spoor.

The employment conditions are in line with the Collective Labour Agreement for higher professional education.

A safe, and professional working environment is imperative to The Hague University of Applied Sciences, both internally and externally. Do you want to know more about the Law Programme and the Faculty?
The International and European Law Bachelor Program of The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) is a 4-year LL.B. program, aimed at training students in the fields of commercial law, public international law, human rights, European law, with a strong emphasis on practical legal skills and legal technology. Main focus of the programme in the coming years is to further develop as market-oriented law programme. The Programme, which is licensed and accredited by the Dutch Government, is fast-growing with currently around 1100 students and 50 faculty members of diverse international backgrounds.
