Shape Your Future as a Future Sales Manager

As a Sales Trainee, you’ll begin a two‑year journey that prepares you for a key commercial role within the Damen Shipyards Group. This traineeship is your opportunity to explore the many facets of shipbuilding, from design to delivery, while developing the entrepreneurial mindset required to represent Damen worldwide, taking ownership of opportunities and driving initiatives forward independently.

You’ll immerse yourself in the commercial world of capital‑intensive, high‑impact maritime projects. Along the way, you’ll uncover what energizes you most, master the skills needed to drive global sales, and discover how to make real impact in a company shaping the future of sustainable maritime solutions.

What You Will Do

Innovate:

• Discover our world-leading product portfolio and contribute to the development of solutions that meet global customer needs.

Explore & Rotate:

• Gain hands‑on experience across multiple disciplines — from engineering and production to procurement, finance and project management — including an international rotation.

Collaborate:

• Build strong relationships with colleagues and customers worldwide and learn how we work as ONE FAMILY, ONE GOAL, ONE DAMEN.

Lead & Grow:

• Develop the decisiveness, ownership and improvement mindset defined in the Damen Leadership Profile and essential for future sales leaders, with a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship and self-starting leadership.

Impact:

• Contribute directly to increasing market presence, customer loyalty and commercial success in assigned regions.

Who You Are

We’re looking for pioneers who dare to take ownership, think commercially and are energized by working in a global environment. Someone who’s curious, committed and ready to grow into an entrepreneurial sales professional.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have (almost) completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree, for example in Marine Technology, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, but all backgrounds with strong commercial drive are welcome.
• Feel at home in our values: fellowship, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship and stewardship.
• Have a commercial mindset and enjoy connecting with people.
• Are technically savvy or eager to learn more about our technology-rich world.
• Are a driven team player with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Want to work in an international and highly diverse environment.
• Are flexible and excited about working abroad.
• Speak English fluently (Dutch is a plus, not a must).
