We offer you an Ocean of Possibilities. Join our family.
About us
At our headquarters in Gorinchem, within the Damen Shipyards Group, there is the department Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE). A department that focuses on Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment (QHSSE). These priorities are embedded in our day-to-day business processes and are constantly monitored by the management system. Through monitoring and reporting we strive to achieve a standard quality within the whole business.
The role
As an intern or graduate student, you will be diving into the topics on Security and Health & Safety. Within these topics, your responsibilities will be focusing on reporting, monitoring and implementation.
Your supervisor will make sure that during your internship or graduation project, you will learn more about rules and regulations, laws and criteria, all within the scope of Damen HSSE.
Key accountabilities
Within the topic Security, you will be establishing a uniform report; cascading from entity, to division, to our Executive Board. Questions and topics will arise, such as these:
- What information is relevant regarding security
- Differentiation in various directions within security
- Define KPIs that can also be managed
For our Health & Security aspect, we would like to set up a procedure for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The scope of this can be fitted onto our Headquarters where the HSSE department is located, but can become a worldwide product:
- Drafting overview of PPEs
- Drafting specifications so that we have the same quality PPEs worldwide within Damen even if we purchase decentralized. Which criteria and applicable standards do we have?
