THE ROLE

Damen Naval is looking for an experienced Engineer Systems Requirements & Verification to join our Verification & Validation team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring that the documented requirements of our customers are accurately managed and translated into clear, functional specifications for engineering teams and subcontractors. You will oversee the requirements management process using DOORS, ensuring traceability, and supporting system verification activities to demonstrate compliance.

As Engineer Systems Requirements & Verification, you will report functionally and hierarchically to the Manager Systems Engineering, and operationally to the Project Manager Engineering/Team Leader Engineering within the assigned project.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
As Engineer Systems Requirements & Verification, you will be responsible for:

• Capture, analyse, and manage customer requirements within the Requirements Management Tool (DOORS).
• Establish and maintain a structured requirements baseline and track changes throughout the project.
• Work closely with engineering teams to decompose and refine requirements, ensuring clarity, consistency, and feasibility.
• Support the identification and resolution of conflicting requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure requirements are well understood, achievable, and verifiable.
• Define functional and non-functional specifications for in-house development and outsourced work packages.
• Maintain the Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) and execute the Verification & Validation plan.
• Ensure all test cases and verification activities provide documented traceability to contractual requirements.
• Generate and distribute progress reports on verification and validation activities.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

As Engineer Systems Requirements & Verification, you need to have:
