Product Service Engineer

Join CEAD as a Product Service Engineer and work hands-on with our large-scale 3D printing technology. Provide technical support, train operators, troubleshoot complex systems, and support customers at our Delft facility and at sites around the world.

As a Product Service Engineer at CEAD, you are part of the crucial link between our advanced 3D printing technology and our worldwide client base. With CEAD systems installed across the globe. With systems installed across the globe – primarily in Europe, the US, and the UK, as well as regions such as the UAE, Asia, Australia, and Africa – you support our customers both remotely and on-site and represent CEAD as an approachable and trusted technical partner.

International travel is a core part of this role and requires flexibility and travel readiness. You provide (remote) technical support and work closely with our Product Service Engineers, Field Service Engineers, and technical specialists to analyze and resolve customer issues. During international customer visits, your main mission is to empower client teams through safety-focused operator training. Additionally, you support occasional preventative and corrective machine interventions. As your technical knowledge and experience develop, you gradually take on greater responsibility and work towards independently handling defined support, training and service activities.

The position combines customer interaction with broad technical problem-solving. You thrive in a dynamic role where clear communication, empathy and calm under pressure, technical curiosity and generalism come together to deliver unmatched customer satisfaction.

Your Key Activities:

  • Remote Technical Support
    • Manage daily technical inquiries through HubSpot CRM via email and video calls.
    • Provide first-line technical support and practical guidance, bringing calm, clear, and empathetic communication when high-priority downtime issues occur.
    • Escalate complex technical issues to experienced Product Service Engineers or relevant technical specialists where required.
    • Document customer inquiries, technical issues, actions, and solutions accurately in the relevant systems.
  • Operator Training and Customer Support
    • Support the delivery of hands-on, safety-focused operator training for CEAD customers on-site following system installation.
    • Develop towards independently delivering operator training as technical knowledge and experience increase.
    • Support customers in understanding the safe and effective operation of CEAD systems.
    • Represent CEAD professionally during remote and on-site customer interactions.
  • Technical Troubleshooting and Internal Collaboration
    • Work closely with Product Service Engineers and software, hardware, process, and other technical specialists to analyse and resolve technical issues.
    • Develop a broad understanding of CEAD’s complete machine ecosystem, including mechanical, electrical, software, and process-related components.
    • Support root-cause analysis and contribute to practical solutions for recurring or more complex technical issues.
    • Share relevant customer feedback and technical findings with internal teams to support continuous improvement.
  • Field Maintenance & Interventions
    • Join international customer visits for preventive maintenance, technical troubleshooting, and corrective interventions.
    • Perform assigned maintenance and technical service activities in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.
    • Gradually develop towards independently performing defined maintenance and technical service activities as knowledge and experience increase.
    • Document relevant technical findings and completed service activities following customer visits.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, or a comparable technical field. Recent graduates and candidates with initial relevant technical experience are also welcome to apply.
  • Affinity with technically complex machines, systems, or industrial equipment.
  • Strong motivation to develop broad technical knowledge and grow within a customer-facing technical service role.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken. Additional European languages such as German, French, or Spanish are a plus.
  • High willingness and flexibility to travel internationally on a regular basis, primarily within Europe, the US, and the UK, with occasional travel to other global destinations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required travel documents and authorisations for international business travel.
  • Living within commuting distance of Delft (CEAD Headquarters).
  • In possession of a valid Category B driving licence.
