Position: Senior/Principal Marine Systems Engineer

Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands

End Date: Long-term contract

Working Pattern: Full time - 3 days in the office / 2 days from home

Brunel are looking to recruit a Senior / Principal Marine Systems Engineer with 10-15 years’ relevant experience gained within the Oil & Gas industry.

This long-term contract is based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, working on a hybrid basis with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days from home.

You will be responsible for delivering reliable, cost-effective and safe engineering solutions within the Marine discipline, ensuring the engineering scope is completed in line with project requirements, international codes, industry standards and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Select appropriate engineering methods and procedures and optimise the design within the discipline scope.
• Plan and complete discipline activities and deliverables within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Define and manage discipline resource requirements for assigned project activities.
• Ensure the discipline Scope of Work is delivered in accordance with contractual and internal project requirements.
• Capture lessons learned and assess the impact of changes within and across project system boundaries.
• Manage discipline interfaces, including clients, subcontractors, vendors, classification societies and regulatory bodies where applicable.
• Act as Principal Engineer for an assigned scope of work and/or as a Technical Expert or Engineering Method Authority where required.

Requirements:

• Professional Experience: 10–15 years within the Oil & Gas industry
• Level / Diploma: Engineer Diploma in a relevant discipline
• Experience with engineering design and calculation tools
• Strong detailed design experience
• Package engineering and manufacturing experience
• Marine engineering experience
• Knowledge of reliability, operability and safety
• Experience with subcontracting and site engineering
• Strong engineering analysis capability
• Knowledge of Hazards and Effects Management and Formal Safety Assessment
• Strong planning and coordination skills
