Position Summary

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Oncology is a field-based expert responsible for developing and enhancing professional relationships with thought leaders in Korea. The MSL provides scientific and clinical information through fair-balanced scientific exchange and supports launch excellence for new oncology products. In an agile team environment, the MSL plays a leading role in field medical activities, collaborating closely with field commercial colleagues to ensure successful product launches and optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

External Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain scientific partnerships with external stakeholders, including thought leaders (TLs), healthcare professionals (HCPs), payers, and health authorities.
  • Lead scientific exchange with HCPs, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical guidelines, and legal directives.
  • Collect and transform field medical insights into actionable goals aligned with strategic medical plans.
  • Stay current on scientific and clinical trends, treatment landscapes, unmet medical needs, clinical trials, and competitor activities.
  • Implement and execute individual TL interaction plans in a timely manner.

Launch Excellence

  • Execute field medical tactics for product launches, ensuring alignment with local regulations and ethical standards.
  • Identify and communicate country- or population-specific medical unmet needs to inform launch strategy.
  • Collaborate with field commercial partners to deliver integrated launch activities and ensure scientific alignment.
  • Provide disease and product data training for internal partners as needed.
  • Drive launch readiness and excellence by proactively supporting pre- and peri-launch activities.

Data Generation & Evidence

  • Support BMS-sponsored interventional and non-interventional research (NIR) studies as appropriate.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Investigator-Sponsored Research (ISR) and non-interventional research, ensuring compliance with company and legal guidelines.
  • Identify clinical unmet needs and translate them into data/evidence generation opportunities.
  • Lead scientific communications with investigators on data publication and presentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific field (MD, PharmD, PhD, or MSc preferred).
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or clinical/scientific research (oncology experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of the Korean healthcare environment and regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent communication and scientific presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in an agile team.

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
