Are you currently searching for a data engineering job that offers the opportunity to work on globally impactful operations, all while being part of a dynamic and enthusiastic team?

Imagine automating the real-time sensor data from our fleet and supporting on NOx reduction for sustainability reporting. In this role, you will have the chance to contribute to our operations by utilizing your skills in data movement and creating data insights. You will have the opportunity to work with cloud technology platforms like Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.

As a data engineer, you will be part of our Data Analytics team. This team of consists 10 data (analytics) engineers, that operates at the intersection of data technology and our core businesses of dredging and offshore operations. Our Data Analytics team supports multiple business teams in a data mesh approach to enable their craftmanship and specialism. Together we add value.

Your responsibilities as a data engineer

  • Extract, collect, store and process huge sets of (un) structured data.
  • Develop new data pipelines and innovations required by the business on the Boskalis Data Platform.
  • Build and maintain the data warehouse & data lake on our Boskalis Data Platform, mainly based on Azure Databricks.
  • Close collaboration with data scientists, management of business units, fleet management, engineering, procurement and IT.

Your qualities

You can make your mark as data engineer if you have:

  • At least 3 years’ relevant work experience as a Data Engineer.
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure Databricks, Python/Pyspark, SQL and Azure Data Factory.
  • Data warehousing experience, Kimball data & generic data modelling.
  • Experience on the Azure Data platform.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.

  • Your team: You will be part of the Data Analytics and Integration team. This team focuses on Business Analytics, Integration and data management. The team consists of 12 colleagues in different roles, such as Architects, Contract Managers, Data Engineers and a Manager.
  • Where you will work: You will work from our beautiful office in Abu Dhabi.
  • Fulltime/ part- time job: The position of data engineer is a fulltime job.
