Do you have experience translating material and design requirements into robust welding procedures? Can you balance quality, cost, and constructability in welding and fabrication processes?

We are looking for a Senior Welding Engineer to develop, optimise, and oversee welding and fabrication processes, ensuring quality, compliance, and reliability across complex engineering projects.

Tasks & responsibilities:

  • Define and implement welding procedures, specifications (WPS), and qualifications (WPQR) in line with project requirements and international standards.
  • Ensure compliance with codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, AWS) across all welding and fabrication activities.
  • Provide technical support on materials, metallurgy, welding methods, and fabrication processes.
  • Review and approve vendor documentation, welding procedures, and fabrication plans.
  • Support and oversee inspection, testing, and quality control activities related to welding.
  • Coordinate with engineering, fabrication yards, and suppliers to ensure correct execution of welding scope.
  • Identify and resolve welding-related issues, non-conformances, and deviations during fabrication and construction.
  • Contribute to constructability reviews, design optimisation, and cost-effective fabrication solutions.
  • Support site activities, including yard supervision, installation, and commissioning phases when required.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned.

Requirements Senior Welding Engineer

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related discipline.
  • 5—10 years of experience in welding engineering within oil & gas or EPC projects.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, metallurgy, and fabrication techniques.
  • Experience with international standards such as ASME, AWS, ISO.
  • Proven experience supporting fabrication yards, suppliers, and construction activities.
  • Experience with inspection and testing methods (NDT, QA/QC processes).
  • Experience in offshore or vessel projects is a plus!
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary project environments.
