Can you design fire & gas detection, firewater, and escape strategies that meet code and still work offshore? Do you have experience improving SLP procedures, templates, and lessons learned across projects?

We are looking for a Senior Safety Loss Prevention Engineer to lead process-safety and loss-prevention design and assurance on offshore projects (especially FPSOs) from concept through EPC, translating hazard studies into compliant fire, gas, and escape solutions.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Own SLP scope across proposal, FEED, and EPC phases and ensure deliverables meet project regulatory and class requirements.
- Develop safety concepts and bases of design, performance standards and ALARP justifications.
- Produce /validate fire & gas philosophies, detection and protection layouts, hazardous-area classifications, escape/egress plans and case-and-effect.
- Perform or oversee firewater hydraulic calculations, F&G mapping and equipment specifications.
- Plan, lead and close out HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA/SIL and related safety reviews; convert actions into design changes.
- Execute/coordinate risk studies (QRA, FERA, EERA, dispersion) and integrate findings into the design.
- Review vendor/subcontractor SLP deliverables; align interfaces with Process, E&I, Marine, Piping, and Structural.
- Conduct quality audits on SLP deliverables (in-house and at suppliers) and drive corrective actions.
- Prepare discipline execution plans, estimates and resource forecasts; report progress and risks.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers; capture and roll out lessons learned and best practices.
- Support siteyard queries, commissioning, and class/client comments until handover.
Requirements Senior Safety & Loss Prevention Engineer
- Bachelor's or Master's in Safety/Chemical/Process Engineering (or similar).
- 10+ years' technical-safety/loss-prevention experience in offshore oil & gas; FPSO experience strongly preferred.
- Proven delivery through FEED and EPC, including ownership of SLP deliverables and studies.
- Deep knowledge of applicable codes/standards (API, IEC, ISO, NFPA), class rules and regulatory regimes.
- Hands-on with hazard/risk methods (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL) and ALARP demonstration.
- Experience with risk/simulation tools (e.g., PHAST/SAFETI, FLACS or equivalent is an advantage.
- Strong cross-discipline interface skills and ability to audit suppliers and close findings.
- Clear communicator with stakeholder management and mentoring capability.
- Fluent in English; willing to travel to vendor, yard or site locations as needed.
