We are looking for a Senior Buyer to lead project procurement, including sourcing and negotiating materials and services, managing purchase orders and costs, ensuring compliance, and mentoring junior buyers to meet schedule and budget targets.

Tasks & responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and lead procurement plans aligned with project or operations requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Source and evaluate suppliers based on strategic sourcing guidelines, ensuring they meet quality, cost, delivery and capacity expectations.
- Lead commercial and contractual negotiations for critical packages to secure competitive terms while mitigating risks.
- Prepare, issue, and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy, compliance with specifications, and alignment with procurement strategy.
- Monitor spend and enforce cost control, identifying and driving opportunities for technical and commercial savings (including total cost of ownership).
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant industry regulations, internal policies, and safety standards.
- Maintain and report procurement status, risks, and mitigation plans to project managers and key stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Mentor, coach and support more junior buyers, fostering alignment with sourcing strategy and improving team capability.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (engineering, projects, category management, contracts) to ensure scope clarity and seamless execution.
- Conduct supplier qualification and performance feedback loops, escalating issues and contributing to continuous supplier improvement.
- Prepare substantiated Commercial Bid Evaluations and Recommendations to Purchase, including identification of risks and opportunities.
- Support variation order and claim management during purchase order execution and contribute to effective close-out.
Requirements Senior Buyer
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the Oil & Gas / EPCI or capital-intensive project environment.
- Proven track record in negotiating and managing high-value contracts and supplier relationships.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient with procurement systems/software and MS Office, especially Excel; comfortable with analytics and reporting.
- Solid understanding of cost breakdowns, total cost of ownership, and value engineering.
- Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced, deadline-driven project environments while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to mentor others and drive alignment across multifunctional teams.
