Product Manager - The Hague
BeDataDriven
Product
Help us build the leading information management platform for social sector organizations worldwide.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a high-agency and impact-driven Product Manager to join us as our first dedicated product hire. We are investing heavily in developing ActivityInfo, the company’s flagship product, which we are building to become the leading information management platform for the social sector. You will therefore be joining us at a critical juncture and will have the exciting opportunity to help set our company’s trajectory.
As our first PM, you will go beyond managing features; you’ll be building the foundation of our product culture. You will sit at the intersection of engineering, sales, and our customers to ensure we are building the most powerful, scalable, and secure information management platform in the market.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, you will work cross-functionally to translate the product vision into features that will create real impact for our customers. You will own the end-to-end product process from discovery through to launch.
What you will work on
- Customer research
- Perform user research on product and customer needs to identify feature gaps, deficiencies, and competitive weaknesses.
- Maintain the feature request backlog, ensuring it is kept up to date with product developments and customer feedback.
- Write clear user stories and feature specifications to inform technical implementation.
- Product roadmap
- Informed by the product vision and with input from the Management Team as well as our customers, define and maintain a clear and prioritized product roadmap for ActivityInfo
- In collaboration with the Engineering Director, UI/UX designer, and key stakeholders, ensure that roadmapped features are researched, defined, and designed adequately.
- In collaboration with the Engineering Director, make trade-off decisions and update prioritisation to ensure strategic goals are met.
- Ensure that changes to the roadmap are communicated to internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Launch management
- Coordinate all activities required for a successful feature launch, including documentation, enablement and communications.
- Communicate product updates to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring internal teams are well aligned on product messaging.
- Analyze product data and customer feedback post-launch to identify areas for iteration and future improvements.
- Evaluation
- Establish and monitor KPIs to measure product success.
- Validate released features with customers.
- Report key product insights to the Management Team to inform our long-term product strategy.
What qualifications you must have
- At least 4 years experience in product management, ideally with experience managing data management products
- A product systems architect: you have direct experience with designing and implementing product management frameworks (e.g. prioritization scoring) that ensure we build the right features for our customers.
- A self-starter: you are independent and are comfortable with taking the lead without having to be asked; you thrive in uncertainty and have no problems figuring your way out of ambiguous problems
- A master communicator: you are able to explain complex concepts and tailor key messages to various audiences with a high degree of clarity
- An evidence-based analyst: you are adept at interpreting data to inform your analysis and are able to back up your recommendations with high-quality evidence
- Technical fluency: you don’t need to code, but you should understand the principle of relational databases and be prepared to get into the weeds of relevance and validation rules, calculated tables, and more.
- Commercial awareness & acumen: you understand that a great product is also a great business. You have experience in pricing strategy, market positioning, and the unit economics of SaaS.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of ActivityInfo
- Experience working with social sector organizations (e.g. UN, NGOs) a plus
