Job Description

We're looking for a highly skilled and proactive Purchasing Specialist to take a role in our procurement function. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic purchasing plans, managing key supplier relationships, and ensuring our procurement processes support operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Planning: Develop and execute strategic purchasing plans for assigned categories to secure the best total cost of ownership, quality, and delivery performance.

• Supplier Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key vendors, evaluating and qualifying new suppliers while strengthening relationships with existing ones. You'll lead business negotiations and conduct regular performance reviews.

• Contract & Risk Management: Craft and negotiate favorable contracts, pricing, and terms. You will also proactively manage and mitigate risks associated with supply contracts and agreements.

• Cost & Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth cost analyses and monitor market trends to forecast price changes and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, production, quality, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with internal stakeholder needs.

• Operational Oversight: Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate order placement. You will also work with the planning team to maintain optimal inventory levels.

• Performance Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key procurement metrics, including cost savings and supplier performance, to leadership.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related discipline. An APICS certification is strongly preferred.

• Experience: At least 3-5 years of progressive experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally in a manufacturing environment.

• Core Competencies:

  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills, with experience in forecasting and trend analysis.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and influence cross-functional groups.

  • A self-motivated, results-driven individual with a track record of process implementation and improvement.

  • High degree of commitment, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
