Job Description
The EUDR Compliance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring our company's compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). This position involves developing and implementing a robust due diligence system to guarantee that the products we place on the EU market, or export from it, are not contributing to deforestation or forest degradation. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the EUDR, supply chain management, risk assessment, and sustainability principles.
Responsibilities:

EUDR System Development & Implementation:
Design and implement a comprehensive EUDR due diligence system, including supply chain mapping, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.
Establish robust record-keeping and reporting mechanisms.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:
Ensure ongoing compliance with EUDR regulations, including preparing and submitting due diligence statements.
Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and manage compliance audits.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Engagement:
Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, supply chain, legal, sustainability) and external partners (suppliers, NGOs, industry groups) to ensure EUDR integration.
Manage supplier engagement for data collection and sustainable practice promotion.

Continuous Improvement & Sustainability:
Drive continuous improvement of the EUDR system, focusing on enhanced effectiveness and supply chain sustainability.
Contribute to broader company sustainability initiatives related to deforestation.

Training, Data Management & Global Support:
Develop and deliver EUDR compliance training for internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee IT systems for data management and traceability, ensuring data integrity.
Provide expert support and guidance on EUDR compliance to customers and partners in non-EU regions.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in environmental science, law, business, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in compliance, sustainability, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.

Knowledge:
Good understanding of the EUDR and its requirements is preferred.
Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and mitigation strategies.
Understanding of sustainability concepts and best practices.

Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently 1 and as part of a team.
Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Experience working with relevant commodities, specifically wood/pulp.
Familiarity with certification schemes (e.g., FSC, PEFC, etc.).
Experience with traceability systems and data management tools.
