Job description
We are looking for a Commodity Buyer on behalf of and in support to our client for their location in Leiden, The Netherlands.
Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at interview stage).
The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:
Responsible for the execution of the procurement process within the boundary conditions set by the company and the project(s). Including reporting to the Programme Supply Manager concerning status and outcome;
Lead the commodity Supplier Account Team;
Establish, implement and monitor a commodity strategy;
Lead and contribute to procurement synergies and savings over Business Units;
Lead the bid, tender and supplier selection process;
Set-up and negotiate contractual agreements, with (procurement) legal contract support, including one-offs or spot buying or amendments, including waiver and claim management;
Lead supplier evaluation, manage supplier’s relationship and define action plan to develop (strategic) suppliers;
Responsible for supplier approval for his/her commodity;
Advise the Product Family Manager on entering or stopping cooperation with suppliers based on market research, benchmarks and supplier performance;
Provide input for the procurement policy and procedures;
Monitor and analyse relevant (internal and external) developments in their own area of attention and take appropriate action;
Define and maintain the strategic stock.

Job requirements

An HBO-level degree or equivalent in a relevant field;
At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field;
Experience defining, developing, implementing and managing strategy and contracts, including risk management, related to the specific commodity scope in optimizing the total cost of ownership;
Strong analytical skills;
Customer and result oriented;
Integrity in the workplace;
Good organizational skills;
Candidates must be eligible to work and live in the EU;
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Proficiency in Dutch is an asset.
