Climate action is a strategic imperative for Maersk & APM Terminals, and we are stepping up our efforts to reduce the climate impact of our business. We are looking for a Project Manager Decarbonisation who is motivated to support this journey through a LEAN mindset and wants to boost their career within the Decarbonisation Centre of Excellence of APMT. We need your help to drive:

  • The identification, development and execution of projects that help accelerate our decarbonisation
  • The continuous improvement and tailoring of our decarbonisation value proposition to enable extending existing and winning new terminal concessions
  • Identify opportunities within the ecosystem around existing and new terminals to create value out of decarbonisation
  • Alignment of investments with APMT’s decarbonisation strategy and targets

Key responsibilities

  • Own the identification, development and execution of decarbonisation projects
  • Lead Decarb involvement in Investment Proposals, ensuring insights, strategic alignment and business case support
  • Own Decarb value propositions, partnering with the Concession Excellence and Investments teams in APMT
  • Develop strategic relationships, both internal and external, to collaborate and provide direction/advice that supports initiatives to deliver on program objectives
  • Own assessment of non-reporting related decarbonisation regulations, standards and targets
  • Co-own decarbonisation communications and thought leadership
  • Ensure consistent project status reporting following the agreed framework / charter / cadence
  • Produce high quality presentations and reports, workshop materials, memos, and other materials

Required qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience on working on decarbonisation on the interface of public sector, logistics and non-governmental organizations
  • Appetite for managing a mix of project management, analytical and outreach activities on a day-to-day basis
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills and ability to deliver high-quality quantitative and qualitative analytics on a range of different topics
  • Strong prioritization abilities and can-do mindset; Ability to balance short term deliverables and long-term business objectives
  • Solid understanding of business case drivers, esp. in a Capex heavy environment
  • Solid understanding of concessions and Public Private Partnerships and how to successfully set these up
  • Solid understanding of GHG Accounting and Target setting frameworks, protocols and standards, e.g. GHG Protocol and Science Based Targets initiative
  • Passion and high interest in decarbonisation and emerging technology and/or maritime sector (particularly the container terminals operations); or appetite and ability to go through a steep learning curve over a short period of time
  • Ability to handle risks and uncertainties. Flexibility in adapting when priorities change. Comfort with challenging the status quo and motivation to lead change
