About APM Terminals and the role

As part of A.P. Moller - Maersk, APM Terminals has been lifting standards for developing and operating advanced ports and container terminals for over half a century (as an independent division since January 2001). Now, with 60 strategically located ports and container terminals around the globe and several more in development, we are the preferred port partner of over 33 countries globally. We serve shipping line and landside customers, seamlessly integrating land and sea to ensure supply chains are safe and undisrupted and to create job and growth opportunities in the communities we operate in.

As Commercial Marketing Manager at APM Terminals, you will build a global marketing foundation to increase visibility, shape perceptions, and unlock sales potential through our propositions among APM Terminals' customers.

You will provide strategic, creative, and operational direction for global customer marketing and communications, and equip regional and terminal commercial teams with guidance, standards, and tools to maximize marketing and communications in their commercial plans and programs.

The Commercial Marketing Manager, reports into APM Terminals’ Head of Marketing, Brand and Content.

In your role, you are responsible for:

  • Collaborating with Customer Insights, Product & Customer Experience, and Sales teams to develop a global marketing strategy that supports commercial objectives through strategic marketing and planning.

  • Building and managing global campaigns, content events, and sponsorships that create visibility, engagement, and interest with key customers.

  • Establishing and governing global processes and standards for customer value propositioning, while building expertise and offering support to regional and terminal teams through value propositions, learning modules, and workshops.

  • Supporting and enabling Product Activation, Sales, and Terminals teams to develop and activate value propositions.

  • Maintaining up-to-date asset repositories and platforms, ensuring marketing tools and templates are accessible to the broader organization.

  • Actively supporting sales teams with the right marketing collateral to create awareness, interest and/or loyalty for and to APM Terminals in customer interactions

  • Setting, driving and measuring the right marketing metrics – closely related to commercial metrics

  • Managing budgets, projects, and relationships with external partners and agencies (as needed) to achieve marketing excellence.

What we are looking for

  • You have at least 15 years of experience in B2B marketing, preferably in logistics or the port industry.

  • You have a proven track record of developing and executing successful commercial marketing strategies that drive results.

  • You're analytically strong and skilled at using customer data and insights to inform your marketing strategies and campaigns.

  • You have experience collaborating with Product and Sales teams to develop integrated marketing and sales programs.

  • You're skilled at managing large, complex marketing projects across multiple levels in a global organization, with a hands-on approach to multi-disciplinary marketing.

  • You're familiar with managing ongoing relationships with external vendors and agencies to develop and deliver effective campaigns and materials.

  • You're a fluent English speaker with excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, able to communicate clearly, persuasively, and collaboratively.

  • You're a self-motivated, creative, driven, organized, and results-focused individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
