We are searching for a compassionate and experienced leader to lead our Procurement Equipment & Automation team who will lead our global team of 7-10 employees to drive the implementation of equipment & automation strategies. APM Terminals and the World is evolving and specifically in this role, the focus on decarbonizing and Automizing operating equipment, what more could you wish for! When procuring equipment assets, we are procuring a lot more than steel, automation and digitized equipment connect our customers, our terminals and operators together through an integrated network of differing technologies and systems. You and your team will work across APMT and Maersk and be responsible for developing category strategies, cost competitiveness, negotiating, contracting critical agreements, sustainability, Supplier Relationship Management and partnerships.

Equipment & Automation is part of the APMT Category Management function where you will join the Asset Category Management leadership team, working closely with our Procurement, engineering, asset management and operational technology teams to co create equipment strategies that are aligned and support our overall APMT strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for APMT Equipment & Automation procurement from category strategy to contract implementation, supplier relationship management.

• Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Engage with equipment and automation suppliers through a structured SRM process to develop and implement equipment, automation and supplier strategies.

• Supplier Development: Encourage, develop and drive key suppliers within areas of lean, aftermarket, digitalization, cost competitiveness and partnerships

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Establish a strong partnership, work closely and collaborate with technical, terminal and operational teams globally to define and deliver cost competitive and aligned solutions to improve the efficiency and operations of our terminals

• ESG Strategy: Drive to the development and implementation of Maersk/APMT Procurement’s ESG strategy with a strong focus on decarbonization.

• Negotiation and Contracting: Manage large scale CAPEX procurement projects with an annual spend of 250-450m USD to purchase new, maintain and retrofit our existing equipment fleet, improve fleet efficiency, and ensure compliance.

• Team Leadership: Lead, develop and manage a global team located across multiple continents to ensure a strong talent pipeline, development and succession planning.

Who are we looking for

• Experience: You are an experienced leader with an extensive capex and OPEX procurement or technical sales background within an international and asset heavy industry

• Category/ Product Management: Solid experience in category/ product management, tender strategies, demand and forecast management, and project management.

• You have a proven track record of successful contract negotiations and cost savings and in-depth knowledge of technology markets, trends, supplier landscapes, regulations, and standards

• Supplier Relationship & Development: Experience with developing & managing complex supplier relationships through a structured SRM program and in a value driven mutual relationship.

• Stakeholder Management. Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to drive initiatives globally in a matrix organization.

• Commercial Mindset: Strong commercial mindset with a focus on achieving cost-effective solutions in collaboration with technical stakeholders.

• You are not afraid of taking challenges head on and you are able to work collaboratively across a global matrix organization to find solutions to remove roadblocks and optimize ways of working

• You have strong communication skills and are experienced with project management

• You are experienced with developing and implementing procurement strategies.

• Above all, you have grit – the perseverance and passion to achieve long term goals and you thrive doing so with and through others. APMT and especially our APMT organization is caring, competent and passionate!

• Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiator with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

• International Mindset and Cultural Awareness: Ability to embody the APMT Values, integrate yourself in the APMT culture and effectively collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

• Just sake good order - you are fluent (verbal and written) in English. That’s our working language in APMT.
