Job Title: Piping Construction Supervisor (Contract)

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Site Construction Manager
  • Manage the execution of piping scope across allocated areas, including supports, painting, testing, and insulation
  • Monitor pipework pre-fabrication activities, including weld quality, material and cast number control, cleaning, and preservation
  • Ensure correct identification, documentation, and certification of piping materials
  • Oversee installation of piping systems, supports, valves, and inline equipment in line with drawings, specifications, and relevant codes
  • Maintain required cleanliness standards for piping systems, including dry air purging where necessary
  • Supervise coating and painting activities, ensuring surface preparation, film thickness, and adhesion meet quality standards
  • Ensure proper application of insulation systems, including vapour barriers for cryogenic systems
  • Verify that testing activities are conducted using correct methods (e.g. pneumatic testing where applicable) and that safety distances are maintained
  • Ensure inspection and sign-off of critical welds, including oxygen service welds
  • Ensure all quality control checks and documentation are completed throughout construction
  • Manage punch listing and system handover activities
  • Ensure completion of all pre-commissioning punch list items
  • Supervise subcontractor construction teams on a daily basis
  • Maintain strong working relationships with project and contractor stakeholders
  • Support implementation of project safety, quality, and execution plans
  • Coordinate and resolve site issues, escalating where necessary
  • Approve time capture for reimbursable resources
  • Produce regular progress reports
  • Ensure compliance with safety initiatives and mandatory site processes

Requirements

Essential:

  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical or related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ construction experience within industrial gases, oil & gas, or similar sectors
  • Strong knowledge of piping codes (including ASME B31.3)
  • Proven experience in piping erection, fabrication, coating, insulation, testing, and QA/QC
  • Knowledge of ASME and relevant industry standards
  • Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and producing reports
  • Experience working within multicultural project teams

Desirable:

  • Industrial gas project experience
  • Experience working on client-side construction management
  • Experience managing Bill of Quantity contracts
