Reimagine What’s Possible

As a Machinery Field Engineer based in Botlek, Rotterdam, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of critical equipment across Air Products facilities in the Netherlands and Belgium. This involves a wide range of responsibilities, including preventative maintenance during shutdowns, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring optimal performance and safety of various equipment, such as compressors, turbines, and pumps. The role requires flexibility, technical expertise, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation and Commissioning:
    Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Preventative Maintenance:
    Conducting routine major maintenance and inspections to prevent equipment failures.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair:
    Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and control system issues in a timely manner.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Technical Support:
    Providing technical expertise and guidance to plant operations and maintenance personnel.
  • Documentation:
    Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment modifications.
Specific Machinery Focus:
  • Compressors: Process gas compressors, including their control and monitoring systems.
  • Turbines: Steam turbines and other types of turbines used in the plants.
  • Cryogenic Equipment: Expanders, pumps, and other equipment used in cryogenic processes.
  • Pumps: Various types of pumps, including cryogenic pumps.
  • Other Rotating Equipment: Gearboxes, cooling towers, fin-fans, and other rotating machinery.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • ​Experience with troubleshooting and repair of industrial machinery.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to support callouts and respond to emergency situations.
In Botlek, Rotterdam:
The specific role in Botlek, Rotterdam, will likely involve supporting the various Air Products facilities in that area, which may include air separation units, hydrogen plants, and other industrial gas production facilities. The role will also involve supporting projects and shutdowns related to these facilities.
