This is what you do as an model development specialist

You will be working in the Finance Model Development and Run Team. The team provides functional and technical support in running and developing financial models for Finance Netherlands (FN). It services production runs for FN models for the purpose of FN internal and external reporting. The team also defines and safeguards model development standards.

Key activities include:

- Technical support for runs of financial models, e.g. loading of data, preparing model runs, monitoring of runs, reviewing successes/failures, solving run incidents, and handover of outcomes to FN model owners;

- Technical maintenance for financial models of Finance NL;

- Technical support for the development of financial models, following DTAP-principles;

- Migration of existing financial models to the new FN IT architecture and model standards;

- Defining and monitoring the use of model development standards (DTAP, coding language, style standards, model documentation) and code repositories.

Key tasks include technical and hands-on management of the financial models used by Finance NL, focused on R and Risk Agility FM. This also encompasses implementing software updates as a result of continued development of methodologies, products, financial policy and regulation; acting as guardian of model standards, developing new models. You will be part of one of the implementation teams and will work closely with other experts assigned to the team, such as a Data engineer, BIA and SME.

You will be working in Non Life team which consists of a Product Owner, Scrum Master, IFRS17 expert, Finance SME’s, BIA, Model Developers and Data engineers. The primary language is English.

You are innovative, result orientated, able to collaborate with others and work to tight deadlines. Moreover, you have the following qualifications:

- MSc, preferably in Econometrics, Science, Physics, Statistics or Computer Science;

- 3 or more years of relevant experience, 2+ years developing mathematical models;

- Affinity for Finance, Financial Risk, modeling and IT;

- Proficient in R (including tidyr, dplyr and data.table packages);

- You already have proven capabilities in:

- Databases, ETL’s and data warehousing

- AWS Glue

- Cloud technology, primarily AWS

- Cloud Native design

- Knowledge of version control;

- Familiarity with OTAP processes and CI/CD;

- Eager to learn new technological, spot changes and utilize these;
